Scholarships are an investment in what matters most to parents and employers alike – our students.  Our vision is to ensure affordability while staying faithful to our historic mission.  This allows Grove City College to remain committed to what matters most – the education and success of our aspiring students.

What is a scholarship endowment?
A scholarship endowment is simply a fund that a college uses to assist students to pay for their education. The fund may be directed solely as a need-based or merit-based scholarship, or it may contain specific criteria agreed upon by the donor and the college. The college has the right to invest the money to increase the size of the endowment over time and can choose to either supervise the process internally or rely on an investment manager to appropriately handle the funds. Grove City College has over 300 scholarship funds named by donors to provide assistance to students and other college-based funds such as the Trustee Academic Scholarship and the General Scholarship Endowment. As of March 2015, the endowment is $111,000,000.  Grove City College devotes the endowment income of 89% of those funds to need-based and merit-based scholarships.

During the 2014-2015 academic year, a total of 1,049 students (or 42.26% of the overall student population) received some type of need-based institutional aid.  Additionally, 1,447 students (or 58.30% of the overall student population) received institutional need-based and/or merit-based aid. A total of $6,413,361 was awarded; the average is $4,432.

Why invest in scholarship?

Scholarship is celebrated!
Each year we celebrate scholarship, share donors' experiences, enjoy students' talents and learn about students' life journeys. This year's celebration was held on Saturday, April 11, 2015. View photos from the event.

How to establish a scholarship:
The process is an easy one! Endowments are established through gifts of $25,000 given within a five-year period. Pass-through scholarships are established with a yearly $5,000 gift. We invite you to read more about establishing a scholarship. If you have questions, please contact Kelly Conger, Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations, at 724-458-2991 or

Many alumni, friends, corporations, businesses and foundations have wholeheartedly supported a partnership with Grove City College as we work to keep higher education affordable. We want to make sure that we reach those students who otherwise may not be able to expand their knowledge and refine their talents in a college setting. Educating new generations of leaders who posses a broad, global perspective is of utmost importance. We hope you will join us and support our important role in this endeavor. Financial aid is one of our highest priorities, for we feel, as our our founder J. Howard Pew said, "without morals and ethics, education is valueless."
