The purpose of Alumni Appreciation Day is to raise student awareness of those campus experiences made possibly by Grove City College donors and their generosity and in turn, to share student appreciation with our donors.
What most students may not realize is that their tuition dollars only cover part of the cost of a full Grove City College experience. Gifts from alumni, parents, and friends make up the difference! Donations provide the funding for buildings, classrooms, science equipment, fitness machines, scholarships, special programs, guest lectures, and much more. Because of the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends, a full Grove City College experience is made possible for every student.
Each year, one day in February is set aside to say thank you. Red bows adorn the campus (on buildings, equipment, and more) to label just some of the many gifts made possible donors. Students are encouraged to stop by the Student Union to sign a thank you postcard to an alumni donor and to post their appreciation via social media by using the hashtag #onedayofthanks.
Search the #onedayofthanks hashtag on Twitter to see postings from Alumni Appreciation Day.

Students were asked to do the following:
1. Stop by the Breen Student Union between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to sign a thank you postcard.
2. Grab free GIANT RED BOW sugar cookies, coffee and hot cider when you participate.
3. Snap a picture with any campus bow and use the hashtag #onedayofthanks to post your appreciation on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
In 2015, the goal was to get over half of the student body involved. To reach this goal, we needed to have 1300 signed postcards at the end of the day. We far-exceeded this goal with a grand total of 1576 postcards!
Thank you for being part of the celebration on Thursday, February 19, 2015!
